Artek launches a year of celebration with Moomin collaboration and special commemorative poster
An invitation from Finland to the world
Artek is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its founding — a milestone that calls for a party to which the world is invited. The celebration is centred around the vision of four young idealists who set out to create a new kind of furniture company that brings Finland to the world, and the world to Finland.
Throughout the year, Artek is collaborating with like-minded creative partners to present a series of special anniversary collections.
The celebrations begin with a furniture collection featuring Tove Jansson’s much-loved Moomin characters and a special anniversary commemorative poster designed by Finnish contemporary artist Inka Bell.
These products will be available for purchase from 20 March, 2025.
Artek and Moomin raise a toast to inclusivity and togetherness with a collection of Aalto furniture featuring early drawings by Tove Jansson.
In keeping with longstanding tradition, Artek will commemorate its upcoming 90th milestone anniversary in 2025 with a poster designed by Finnish artist Inka Bell.
The celebration continues
In the second half of 2025, Artek will partner with Finnish lifestyle design house Marimekko for an exciting limited collection that merges the art of printmaking with the technology of wood bending. In late autumn, some treasured and frequently requested gems from the Artek archive will be made available, highlighting the unique craftsmanship and design heritage of the Aaltos. Some of these products are strictly limited in time and quantity, while others will make a permanent return to the collection.
