Stool 60 turns 90. The anniversary celebrations began in Japan on March 18th with a large installation by Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects (ATTA) at Tokyo’s Dover Street Market Ginza. Celebrating the Finnish forest, the display includes Stool 60 Kontrasti and Stool 60 Sleeping Beauty, an anniversary edition created in collaboration with architect Tsuyoshi Tane and available from April 24th as a limited edition at Artek Tokyo only. Inspired by the concept of graceful aging, Tane’s Stool 60 Sleeping Beauty explores ways to capture the patina of age and experience by burying raw birch sections in soils collected from different sites in Japan, as an homage to the geo-histories rooted in the soil.

The exhibition will run from March 18th until April 24th
