Artek and Institute of Contemporary Arts present artist’s edition by Barbara Kruger
Untitled (Kiss) marries Alvar Aalto’s classic Stool 60 with a newly commissioned work by the conceptual artist
Artek has joined forces with London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts, ICA, to produce an artist’s edition by Barbara Kruger. Untitled (Kiss) (2019) is the starting point of a new collaboration between Artek and the ICA, which will result in a series of artists’ customisations of Stool 60.
With a career spanning the past fifty years, Barbara Kruger is internationally known for her collaged photographs featuring provocative statements on issues surrounding commercial culture, feminism, and identity politics.
Finished in Kruger’s signature black, white and red, this bespoke stool is produced in an initial multiple of 300. Each stool is hand-numbered and finished on the underside with the artist’s stamp of authenticity.
Untitled (Kiss) will be launched at Frieze London, 3 – 6 October, and will be available to purchase directly from the ICA from 10am GMT on 1 October 2019.
The stool will be available from the following outlets and dates:
ICA Bookstore, from 1 October

Allied Editions at Frieze London, 2–6 October (Booth A24)
Dover Street Market, London, 3–5 October
