Artek forest collection group landscape SRGB — Some of the most-loved Artek products, including Stool 60, Chair 66, Chair 69 and a selection of Aalto Tables and Benches, have been selected for the Forest Collection.

The most waited furniture and design event of the year, Habitare, will again be held 11-15 September 2024 at Messukeskus in Helsinki. We will be participating in the event with our Artek and Vitra brands. Here are some of the highlights of Habitare. See you there!

Habitare Choice / The Forest Collection

The Forest Collection is the result of a collaboration between Artek and design studio Formafantasma that sought to encourage wider, wilder and more responsible uses of wood. The collection introduces a new wood selection called “wild birch” that proudly displays the natural variations that occur in birch wood—such as knots, insect trails and colour fluctuations—to celebrate the beauty of imperfection found in natural materials.

The Habitare Choice area, which presents solutions for a more sustainable future, will showcase a wide range of companies operating based on responsible values. The exhibition will be curated by the interior stylist Susanna Vento.

Habitare Neighbours / Vitra's Anagram sofa

Anagram is a sofa made up of a few modules and elements that can be quickly and easily adapted to match both immediate needs and major life changes. We welcome you to test and discover Vitra's new Anagram sofa collection at our booth 6d40.

The New Aesthetic of Sustainability

Wed 11.9. klo 13–13.45

The forest is changing in light of industrialisation and climate change, which calls for a more responsible use of wood in furniture and interior design. Artek managing director Marianne Goebl, Vaarnii co-founder and CEO Antti Hirvonen and interior architect and designer Joanna Laajisto discuss how to embrace the variety and honest beauty of the forest to establish a new aesthetic. The discussion on the main stage will be in English.

Habitare will once again be spreading out in the centre of Helsinki this autumn, showcasing local showrooms. We are part of the Showrooms Habitare x Helsinki Design Week event.
