We have updated Alvar Aalto’s chair and table classics to a new, more comfortable height

We have updated Alvar Aalto’s chair and table classics to a new, more comfortable height. At the same time, we added colour options black and white.

Alvar Aalto designed the chairs and tables that have since become Artek classics in the 1930s. Since then, the average length of humans has increased. In order to better adapt the furniture to modern measures, we’ve increased the height of the L-leg collection by two centimetres. In addition, the chairs now feature standard felt glides. The update concerns the following models:

• chairs 65, 66, 68, 69: new sitting height 45,5 cm
• L-leg tables 80, 81, 82, 83, 86, 90, 91, 97: new height 74 cm

More height is something our customers have asked for. Chairs and tables now fit more users and locations. Change in size increases usability and compatibility with chairs and tables designed to modern standards.
